Respite and Short Stay

Being a full-time carer is a very demanding role. Respite care breaks are an opportunity for carers to take a holiday or simply spend some time looking after their own needs, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is receiving the very best care. Respite care also offer individuals the opportunity to meet new people and try out something new.

Most people are diagnosed when they are children but a lot of people do not get diagnosed until they are adults. If the condition goes undiagnosed and untreated, it can have a negative effect on functioning especially in areas of education and relationships. People who have ADHD may also experience sleep and anxiety problems.

The homes have a policy of actively promoting the maintenance of residents' normal social network and social activities.
Each resident's Care Plan includes a facility for recording life history, social network and contacts, and preferences for activities and hobbies such that staff are made aware of these, and the resident is offered access to those networks and activities which are appropriate and desired.
The policy of the homes is that activities and networking support are a part of normal daily living, and support for access will be available at all times.
Visitors are very welcome at any time that is convenient for the residents.
